Another technique that can be useful when using a plain background is to have 2 colour schemes that are the same except that in the 1st scheme, 1 colour matches the background exactly whereas in the other scheme it contrasts with the background. That way, you can hide or reveal text (and lines/shapes if you like) on the slides by swapping between the 2 schemes. (Works in PPT 2003. Haven&#039;t tried it yet in PPT 2007.)

Not as flexible as the techniques in your post, but handy sometimes...
